Arlington, Virginia -- The Styrene Information and Research Center has launched a website, www.YouKnowStyrene.org, to serve consumers, educators, the media, communities, styrene industry employees and others as a reliable one-stop information source on styrene, SIRC said.
The website contains several sections, including:
--“The Styrene You Know,†which lists the many ways styrene appears in household products and in nature.
--“Health and Safety,†which presents up-to-date scientific information on styrene that stresses the chemical's safety.
--“Green Styrene,†which discusses the renewable energy, sustainability and recycling aspects of styrene.
--“Jobs and Economy: Industry Size,†which discusses styrene's status as a job creator. “As many as 750 000 jobs across the nation are related to the production, fabrication, installation or sales of (styrene-related) goods,†the website said.
SIRC also will continue to operate its original website, www.styrene.org, which is designed for regulatory and technical audiences.
