NHTSA recalls Shandong Yongtai tyres
ERJ staff report (DS)
Washington DC -- NHTSA, the US vehicle safety organisation, said ITR USA, which imports tyres to the US from China's Shandong Yongtai tyre factory, is recalling a series of light truck tyres sold under the Negotiator product line. Up to 51,000 tyres are affected by the recall.
NHTSA said the tyres do not meet FMVSS 139, due to possible blistering and bubbing in the sidewalls. With extended use, this may lead to pressure loss and hence loss of control of the vehicle.
Those interested should search on the NHTSA database under NHTSA Campaign ID Number: 11T006000
