Sales up at Asahi and Kinugawa

    Japan - Reuters has reported sales at Asahi Rubber for the year ended 31 March 2011 were yen 4.72 billion (euro 40.86 million), up 2.4 percent from yen 4.61 billon the year previous.

    Operating profit at the Japanese silicone rubber maker was yen 129 million, up 8.1 percent from the year ending 31 March 2010.

    Reuters also reported the results for Kinugawa Rubber Industrial Co. Ltd. Sales for the year ended 31 March 2011 were yen 41.1 billion (euro 355.86 million), up 20 percent from the year previous (yen 34.26 billion).

    Operating profit at the major rubber automotive parts maker was 2.61 billion, up 106.7 percent from yen 1.26 billion year-on-year.

    The results were for parent companies only so did not include subsidiaries and overseas companies.
