Century Enka adds nylon tyre cord capacity

Mumbai, India -- Century Enka Ltd has informed BSE that installation of additional capacity of 7500 tons of Nylon Tyre Cord Fabric (NTCF) has been completed. The company said that after trial runs, various samples of yarns, fabrics and tabbies have been produced and are being sent to tyre companies and others for their approvals. Commercial production will be achieved in phased manner.
The total NTCF capacity of the Company has gone up from 22000 tons per annum to 29500 tons per annum.
Century Enka also released its results for the 12 months to 30 March 2011. Century Enka reported net sales of Rs 13 433 million (euro 206 million), up from Rs 12 376 million a year previously. Operating profits fell, however, to Rs 1162 million (euro 17.8 million), from Rs 1656 million a year earlier.
