Ramachandran elected as vice-chair of India's Rubber Board

Kottayam, Kerala -- Mr. S. Ramachandran has been elected as the new vice chairman of the Rubber Board. The decision was taken by the 165th meeting of the Rubber Board held at Kottayam earlier this week.
A native of Thiruvananthapuram, Mr. Ramachandran is the Director of Vaikundom Plantations, which started planting of rubber in 1911. He is also an executive committee member of Planters' Association of Tamil Nadu. Presently he is a member of Wage Negotiating Committee of Tamil Nadu Rubber Workers and UPASI Rubber Committee.
He had been a member of Plantation Labour Committee of Govt. of Tamil Nadu, and a consultant to Govt. of Nigeria for two years. He is an engineering graduate from Guindi College of Engineering and had served the Telecom Department for twenty years in various capacities.
