Lifestyles launches condom made from synthetic polyisoprene
ERJ staff report (DS)
Red Bank, New Jersey -- Ansell Healthcare has increased its range of condoms made with synthetic polyisoprene. The condoms are sold under the Skyn brand. The latest product is a large sized condom.
In a statement, Ansell said, With almost 10 percent of the American population afflicted with latex allergies, SKYN's non-latex polyisoprene formula avoids any natural rubber latex allergens that might cause adverse reactions with latex-sensitive users. "While SKYN and SKYN Large condoms are the ideal choice for people with a known or suspected allergy to natural rubber latex, we have found in research and customer feedback that many users just prefer the softer, more natural feel of polyisoprene," said Carol Carrozza, VP of Marketing for Ansell Healthcare Products LLC. "It truly is the closest thing to wearing nothing!"
