Ceat begins operations at Halol

Mumbai, India -- Ceat Ltd has informed issued a brief statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange that commercial production of passenger / truck radial tyres has commenced at Halol plant of the Company with effect from March 25, 2011.

The company describes the plant as State-of-the-art. When announced in early 2009, Ceat said it would come on stream in Mid-2010 and employ 1000 making around 4 million units/year of radial tyres for truck, bus, light truck and passenger cars.
