JSR stops EPDM production at Kashima unit, warns of shortages
ERJ staff report (DS)
Kashima, Japan - JSR Corp said it has stopped the limited production of rubber at its factory in Kashima, Japan, due to interruptions in the supply of utilities such as steam and power.
In a statement, the company said, “ If the situation remains unchanged for a period of time, it is possible that we will experience shortages of EP rubber (ethylene propylene rubber) beginning in the middle of April. Inventory levels of that product have been very low due to a tight demand and supply balance that existed before the earthquake happened.â€
