Daetwyler sets up AVS plant in Wuxi

Altdorf, Switzerland -- Daetwyler Rubber is setting up a production facility in Wuxi, China to make high precision sealing and vibration-control solutions for the Chinese automotive industry. The unit is expected to begin initial production trials in theecond quarter of this year, with full productino ramping up from the second half.
Capital expenditure requirements amount to approx. CHF 5 million (euro 3.9 million). The company anticipates annual sales of roughly double that.
With the Wuxi site, Daetwyler is one of the first suppliers of high precision elastomer components present with its own facilities in the three most significant automotive markets Nafta, Asia and Europe.
The Daetwyler Group has been present in China with its own data cables plant as well as a harnessÂing plant since 1998, employing a staff of 250 at two locations in the greater Shanghai area.
