Michelin launches commercial service network
ERJ staff report (TB)
Greenville, South Carolina -- Michelin Americas Truck Tires (MATT) is introducing the Michelin Commercial Service Network, a franchise network of commercial tyre dealers that that the company expects will “provide consistent, high-quality service to trucking fleets across the USâ€
Michelin said the network will offer a comprehensive service package including road service, online operating manuals and online fleet reporting.
“Now, more than ever, it is imperative for trucking fleets to maximise their uptime to meet the demands of their customers,†said François Corbin, MATT's COO. “The Michelin Commercial Service Network is a breakthrough in the tyre industry. By ensuring consistent, high-quality service nationwide for fleets, we can help fleets reduce operating expenses and manage their assets.â€
To serve fleets on the road, network dealers will provide a consistent supply of new tyres and retreads, around-the-clock service and highly-trained service technicians, according to Michelin. After-hours road service will be coordinated through a centralised dispatch system with no dispatch fee for national account fleets.
Fleets can track their emergency road service (ERS) activity through online reporting on individual ERS events and a comprehensive fleet ERS analysis.
Fleets also can receive a customised online service manual that provides the fleet's specifications and requirements to both the servicing network and the fleet's terminals. The online service manual provides notification of changes across fleet terminals and the entire Michelin Commercial Service Network of dealers.
