Pirelli to set up manufacturing base in Mexico - reports FT

Milan -- Pirelli Tyre is likely to set up a manufacturing base in Mexico, according to Marco Tronchetti Provera, Pirelli's president and chief executive, interviewed by the Financial Times. The paper quoted the CEO saying, “The plan is not yet finalised, but in our picture it makes sense to produce in Brazil and Argentina for the regional Latin American market and to supply America from within [a country that is part of the North American Free Trade Agreement] instead of from Latin America,”

Pirelli Tyre is due to publish a five-year plan on 4 November in Milan.
