Rolls Royces recalled over wrong nitrile hose compound
ERJ staff report (DS)
Washington DC -- Bentley Motors Inc. is recalling around 12 vehicles sold in the United States which have been fitted with defective replacement brake hoses. The replacement hoses were sold between 2006 and 2009 and the 12 vehicles affected were sold between 1975 and 1980. The replacement hose is made from nitrile rubber, but the compound is not tolerant of glycol ether-based fluids. This could lead to hose failure, and ultimately, brake failure.
The models affected are the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, Shadow II and the Bentley T2 with hoses manufactured between October 2006 and March 2009.
