ERJ staff report (RD)
Brussels -- Bridgestone has now produced over 150 million Blizzak winter tyres since it launched the range in 1988, a 17 March statement from Bridgestone Europe said.
The milestone was passed in 2009, during which over 10 million of the tyres were manufactured globally, Bridgestone said.
Blizzak tyres for passenger cars, commercial vans, 4x4 vehicles and trucks are manufactured in Japan, Europe and Turkey, the statement said, adding that, “the Europe range includes lamellen tyres for more variable Central European winters and studless tyres with some Multicell compounds for extreme Nordic conditions.â€
Bridgestone's Blizzak range includes the LM-30 for safety on snow and wet; the LM-35 for secure motorway handling on both wet and dry; and the DMV1 for grip on frozen surfaces, wet handling and “extreme winter conditions,†the statement said.
