Use of Rocktron filler in innerliner can save money
ERJ staff report (DS)
Cologne, Germany -- Rocktron presented results at the Tire Technology Conference which appeared to show that tyre makers can substitute some of the carbon black in an inner liner compound for the cheaper Rocktron product.
The research was done by ARTIS, a research company owned by AvonRubber PLC.
Advanced Products Director, Godfrey Short, presented results showing equivalent air permeation results, when partially replacing carbon black with RockTron's MinTron 7 in a bromobutyl passenger tyre liner formulation.
