Quadra says it is in talks with carbon black makers
ERJ staff report (DS)
Las Vegas, Nevada -- Quadra Projects, a processor of post-consumer tyres, says it is in talks with carbon black makers with a view to selling carbon materials arising from its pyrolysis process.
The company said in a statement that it, "has received interest from major Carbon Black manufacturers who have recognised the significant competitive advantage that the QES System has for producing Carbon Black"
It added, "Discussions centre around the synergies of joint venturing with these companies. These companies can offer their expertise in marketing and research, while Quadra can offer them a... technology that can ... reduce their operational costs."
Quadra did not refer to the well-recognised lack of surface activity on the carbon materials produced from recycling plants, and which tends to have a significant effect on rubber-filler adhesion.
