Toronto, Ontario -- Surfactants manufacturer Siltech Corp. has bought Rhodia's manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Siltech said the 113,000-sq.-ft. plant, situated on 8 acres of land, “is well equipped with highly specialised chemical reactors, bulk storage and rail road facilities.â€
According to the Canadian company, it aims to retain Rhodia's 42 employees and continue to manufacture Rhodia's products under a long-term contract.
Siltech President Dag Enhorning said the acquisition was “important for Siltech, as it offers large additional manufacturing capacity with highly skilled people, which Siltech needs for its long-term growth.â€
The company's present manufacturing and research facility in Toronto will continue to operate as its headquarters.
