Cooper curtails N.A. operations due to materials shortage
Findlay, Ohio -- Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has been forced to curtail production at all its North American facilities from Sept. 23-28 because of continuing raw materials shortages in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, according to Curtis Schneekloth, Cooper director of investor relations.
“This is a fluid situation, and we are dependent on our suppliers' ability to supply raw materials,†Schneekloth said in a prepared statement. “Cooper will try to maintain industry-leading fill rates during this period.â€
Cooper expected production to resume on Sept. 29 at some of its facilities.
