Indian firm makes FKM-lined auto hoses
ERJ staff report (DS)
Pune, India -- Shore Auto Rubber Exports Pvt. Ltd., has begun exporting fluoroelastomer-lined silicone hoses to overseas OEM customers. Shore Auto Rubber commenced production in November 2006 and it took over the production of the full range of silicone hoses from its parent company - Auto Steel & Rubber Industries Pvt. Ltd.
In the first 12 months Shore Auto increased its client base from 6 to 33 customers, all, overseas. In July this year, Shore Auto exported silicone hoses with Viton lining for the first time to an unidentified overseas OEM customer. A thick liner of FKM is needed on the hose, if the hose is transmitting some organic coolants, or oil, at high temperatures.
The company said it hopes to win ISO/TS16949:2002 certification in the next quarter of this year.
