Tokai completes 'Technopia' tech centre

Tokyo -- Tokai Rubber Industries has completed its 'Technopia' tech centre in Japan. The company has been working on the new technology laboratory construction since last year. The new building is intended to be the new R&D center equipped with R&D environment (molecular design, clean, and precision processing) and R&D area necessary for creating a new business. The opening ceremony on July 22nd coincided with Tokai's 80th birthday celebrations
The new complex comprises two buildings, one of 6 stories and the other of five. The total floor area is about 10 700 m2 and represents an investment of some Yen 3200 million (Euro 19 million)
In a statement, Tokai said, "With the organized R&D facility, Technopia, Tokai Rubber Industries Group will further increase the speed of new business creation and new technology development, as a manufacturing company that can benefit the society."
