Lanxess raises rubber prices again
ERJ staff report (DS)
Leverkusen, Germany -- Specialty chemicals company Lanxess AG is to increase its prices worldwide for a number of its synthetic rubber grades effective July 1, 2008.
According to an announcement by the Technical Rubber Products business unit, the price increase per metric ton will comprise up to EUR 200 / USD 300 for Buna EP (EPDM), up to EUR 150 / USD 225 for Perbunan/Krynac (NBR) and up to EUR 2,000 / USD 3,000 for Therban (HNBR). The price for Baypren (CR) will be raised by up to EUR 160 / USD 250 in the regions North America (NAFTA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC). Lanxess said this increase was unavoidable because the costs for raw materials and energy have risen significantly.
