Kuraray increases SBC prices globally
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo -- Kuraray is increasing the prices of its Septon, Hybrar and TU-Polymer products globally. These are mainly styrenic block copolymers.
Crumb grades will go up by Euro 300/tonne in Europe, while pellet grades will increase by Euro 450/tonne from 1 May. The website (see below) gives the increases for other regions. A particular highly specialised polymer known as TU-Polymer will go up by 50 percent, but a spokesman for kuraray said the company sells only a few tones of this material in Europe.
The company blamed increasing energy and feedstock prices h and said it is aiming to recover only a portion of the increased costs.
