Ostan Group builds rubber moulding plant in Poland

Katowice, Poland - Italian industrial parts moulder the Ostan Group is constructing a new plant in Poland to manufacture a range of semi-finished products and plastic and rubber parts for the automotive and domestic appliance sectors.
Newly formed subsidiary Gimplast Polska is building a square metre moulding facility in Sosnowiec in the Katowice Special Economic Zone due to start up before the end of 2008. The Euro 6.53m facility will employ up to 80, according to the Polish Information & Foreign Investment Agency.
Initially, the new plant will be equipped with eight injection presses ranging from 35 to 1,100 tonnes clamping force, according to the Ostan Group. Other Gimplast moulding plants - with a combined injection moulding capacity of 28 presses - are already operating in Arrubal, Spain, and Judetal Maramures, Romania, as well as in Kosina, Slovenia.
The group also plans to launch an injection moulding plant in Shajing Town, Shenzhen in China operated by a new offshoot, Osmap Plastic Hardware Products. Employing 20, it will be equipped with six presses ranging from 160 - 380 tonnes.
In Italy, Ostan of San Stino di Livenzo, has a central Osmap injection moulding plant in San Stino, equipped with 33 presses. These have clamping forces ranging from 25 - 1,500 tonnes from suppliers including Arburg, Negri Bossi, Engel and Battenfeld. In addition, the group has an Osmap office in Singapore.
