Tenneco wins new business with Japanese OEMs
ERJ staff report (DS)
Tokyo -- US based Tenneco said it has picked up some new business with Japanese OE manufacturers. Out of $200 million of new business, Tenneco said around $8 million (Euro 5 million) is in the elastomers sector. Tenneco said the new business includes contracts with five Japanese OEMs for vehicles launching between 2008 through 2010.
"We are pleased to see the results of our continued focus on growing with the Japan-based OEMs and, equally important, we are diversifying within that market both in terms of customers and geographic locations," said Tenneco Chairman and CEO Gregg Sherrill.
Besides elastomers, emission control accounted for 82 percent of the business and ride control 14 percent. About 20 percent of the new business is in Brazil, Russia, India and China, Tenneco said.
