Dow Corning reports record earnings, sales
Midland, Michigan-- Dow Corning, which turns 65 this year, is coming off another solid year, recording net income of $690.1 million (Euro 466 million), a record high and an increase of 15 percent over 2006, the company reported in its annual financial report released Jan. 31.
Sales for 2007 jumped 13 percent to $4940 million from last year and, a spokesman noted, Dow Corning has had eight consecutive record sales quarters.
Consolidated net income for the fourth quarter came in at $167.1, the same as last year's earnings. Sales in the period rose 11 percent to $1290 million. More than half of the firm's sales are outside the U.S.
