Honeywell system helps improve calendering quality
ERJ staff report (SS)
Brussels -- Honeywell has introduced the MXProLine, a wire calender quality control system (QCS) which it claims can help plants achieve greater operational efficiency, enhanced productivity and improved quality control.
Honeywell said, in a 21 Jan statement, that the system gives better visibility in the wire calendaring process and therefore detect defects early in the process. Also, the accurate measurements and advanced signal processing can reduce waste, said the company.
According to Honeywell, the machines high-performance sensors can provide independent measurements of total weight, top and bottom gum weight, wire weight, wire cord count, wire spacing and the gum-edge-to-first-cord measurement.
The system also measures the true coating on the top and bottom of the wire.
