Sibur to invest Euro 120 million in rubber production

Moscow -- As part of its investment plan for 2008, JSC Sibur has said it intends to spend Rbls 4300 million (Euro 119 million) in the rubber sector.
The company said it will, "continue exploring the feasibility of new thermoplastics and halogenated butyl rubber projects. Progress will be made in the optimisation and installation of automatic control systems, as well as in the transition of polybutadiene rubber process to neodymium catalyst system at Voronezhsintezkauchuk. New refrigerating plant project will be implemented at Tolyattikauchuk.
The company said it produced 553 kt of elastomers in 2007 and expects this to rise to 595 kt in 2008.
