Huber raises silica prices
ERJ staff report (DS)
Atlanta, Georgia -- Huber Engineered Materials (HEM), part of J.M. Huber Corporation, has announced a price increase for its dental, paper and rubber grade silica and silicates.
The increase is effective Jan. 1, 2008, or as current contracts allow. Prices will increase an average of five to eight percent - dependent upon the product grade and presentation. Increases in energy, raw materials costs and rising investments in meeting regulatory requirements cannot be offset by continuing productivity improvements and production efficiencies, Huber officials said.
