NR prices now above $2.50 / kg
Singapore - Natural rubber prices have risen by around 20 percent in the last two months.
In Singapore RSS1 is currently trading just above 370 singapore cents per kilo ($2.55), with futures contracts running about five percent higher, at 385 Sing cents/kg. RSS3 is also hovering around $2.55/kg, with futures contracts up to about $2.65.
Tokyo's TOCOM 6-month price is around ¥300/kg ($2.62), while in India the price is threatening to breach Rs 100/kg ($2.55)once more.
Prices now are around 30percent higher than year ago, but still short of the $2.80 or so peak reached in June 2006.
