Today is deadline for comments on proposed EC tyre rules
Brussels - Today is the deadline for interested parties to submit comments to the European Council on proposed new tyre rules. On 7 August, the EC published a consultation document, "Public consultation on outline proposals for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on Advanced Safety Features and Tyres."
The document proposes new limits on noise and rolling resistance of tyres, the mandatory fitting of tyre pressure monitoring systems to new vehicles and new wet-grip requirements. Detailed proposals can be downloaded from the link below.
Once the submissions have been received, all comments will be published on the EC website.
The ETRMA (European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association) is known to have responded on behalf of the tyre industry.
