Amtel-Vredestein to supply Renault Logan factory
Moscow -Â Amtel-Vredestein NV has won an exclusive contract to supply tyres to the OJSC Autoframos factory. Autoframos makes the popular Logan brand car for Renault in Russia.
In 2006 Renault Logan became the best foreign-made selling car in Russia. The Moscow Autoframos plant, which has capacity for 80 000 cars a year. In 2009 this number is expected to grow to 160 000 cars. Amtel-Vredestein said it will be the sole supplier of original equipment tyres to this factory.
Amtel-Vredestein said the contract means the comapny will supply up to 480 000 tyres in the first year of deliveries, with the first tyres supplied by the end of this year. It is projected to supply up to 35 000 tyres per month.
Preparations leading up to the contract took three years, said Amtel-Vredestein. The main supplier will be Amtel-Povolzhye tyre complex (Kirov).
