Hankook gains access to test tracks
Geumsan, South Korea -Â Hankook Tire has signed a long-term contract to use the IDIADA test track in Spain, including the new wet test track there. In addition, the company has opened a short wet track adjacent to its Geumsan plant in Korea.
The company revealed that it has signed a long-term agreement to use the IDIADA facility just outside Barcelona, Spain. Sang Ju Lee, vice president of research and development said the new wet-test track in Spain should be complete by January 2008, with serious testing beginning shortly afterwards.
In addition, Hankook has just finished constructing a short (1600m) wet handling track next to its Guemsan factory in Korea. The track, designed by MIRA in the UK features 17 corners and a separate circle.
The Korean track represents a KRW10 000 million ($10 million) investment
