Leverkusen, Germany - As of 1 Oct. 2007, Lanxess will globally increase its prices for rubber chemicals. The Vulkanox 4020 antioxidants will rise in cost by €190 or $250 per metric ton, and the Vulkacit accelerator grades by between €150 and €360 or $200 and $500 per metric ton. The reasons for these measures by the Rubber Chemicals business unit are the continued high cost of the raw materials and the increase in energy prices.
The affected rubber chemicals from LANXESS are primarily used in the tire industry as well as in the hose, profile, cable and drive train industries.
