Teklas builds auto rubber goods unit in Bulgaria
Kardzhali, Bulgaria - Turkish rubber components maker, Teklas Kaucuk has invested €10 million in a new rubber moulding and processing plant in southern Bulgaria. Initially the unit will supply rubber components to Volkswagen, but Teklas expects the range of products and customers to increase in the near future.
Currently the unit employs 57, but the company has a target of 250 employees when the unit is in full production. Local reports said Teklas hopes to build a second factory nearby next year.
Nebi Anil, purchasing and logistics Manager for Teklas said the factory was the first rubber processing plant in Bulgaria.
Teklas makes extruded hoses, injection mouldings, brake hoses, windscreen wipers and other components at its factory in Muallimköy-Gebze/ Kocaeli, Turkey. The company also produces compound at the same plant. Initially, compound wil be shipped to the Bulgarian factory.
