Female Health Co. gets Indian registration for new female condom

Chicago, Michigan -- Female Health Co.'s FC-2 female condom has received registration by the Indian authorities, allowing the company and its Indian partner Hindustan Latex Ltd (HLL) to initiate sales of the product in the country.

Female Health Co. said the development of FC-2 will “result in significantly lower manufacturing and capital costs, and this ultimately will result in lower prices at high volume with the objective of accelerating market penetration.”

HLL, an Indian Government-owned company, has launched Female Health Co.'s FC-1 female condom to consumers in Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata under the Confidom trade name.
