RMA: Tread rubber shipments to rise 1.7% in US
Washington -- US tread rubber shipments should rise 1.7 percent through the rest of 2006, according to the country's Rubber Manufacturers Association.
RMA said increase, just shy of the 1.9 percent growth in 2005, will be fueled by "continued economic growth."
The forecast also marks the fourth consecutive year that tread rubber shipments will rise.
The expected shipments represent about 16.4 million retreaded tyres in the US.
