EU car registrations climb in June
Brussels--Car registrations in Europe grew stongly in June, compared to the same month a year ago.
Total Europe (EU-23 + EFTA) passenger car registrations in June 2005 amounted to 1,545,879 units, which
represent an increase of +4.5% (and of +4.7% in the EU-15) with respect to June 2004. The number of working
days was significantly similar to June 2004, with the only exceptions of Poland (+2), Slovenia and Austria (+1).
Thanks to the encouraging result of June, the drop in cumulative figures for the first semester of the year has
fallen to -1.1% in total Europe (and -0.2% in the EU-15).
