Huber raising precipitated silica prices 10% or more
Atlanta, Georgia)--Huber Engineered Materials is raising prices globally for its speciality and rubber grade precipitated silicas 10 percent or more, citing increased raw materials, energy and transportation costs as its reasons.
The increases are effective Oct. 1 or as contracts allow.
The firm, a unit of JM Huber Corp., said these operating cost increases, combined with the impact of inflation, have outpaced its ability to offset them with cost-reduction projects.
