Chemtura lifts flame retardant prices by up to 40 percent
Middlebury, Connecticut -- Chemtura Corp. has announced worldwide price increases of up to 40 percent on its range of brominated flame retardants. The company said in a statement that "price increases of approximately 20%-40% " will be implemented from 1 October, 2005, where contracts allow.
"This price increase is necessary to restore profitability and to better reflect the true value of these products in the high-performance end use applications where they are employed," said Myles Odaniell, executive vice president of Performance Chemicals. "Concurrently, we continue to work on improving the overall cost structure and manufacturing productivity of this business."
