Boeing adds Michelin to 787 Dreamliner partner team
Everett, Washington--Boeing has said that Michelin will be the second source for aftermarket nose and main tyres for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner passenger airplane.
In a statement, Boeing said, "Michelin will offer a combination of traditional radial construction tyres
and new lightweight Near Zero Growth (NZG) construction tyres. NZG construction offers increased resistance to cuts and wear. The 787 will have 10 tyres; two for the nose landing gear and eight for the main landing gear.
Previously, Boeing announced that Bridgestone would be the main tyre supplier to the Dreamliner aircraft.
