TPMS makers gear up for boom in sales
London--Following last week's announcement that new cars in the US will have to have tyre pressure monitors (TPMS) fitted as standard from 2008, a number of companies are making announcements about their TPMS technology.
Transense Technology expects to introduce its Surface Acoustic Wave technology later this year, following a service agreement between Honeywell and Michelin relating to Michjelin's eTire system for truck tyres. Michelin is licensed to use the Transense tyre pressure monitoring technology./p>
PressurePro, claiming to be the leader in the US TPMS aftermarket business is threatening to enter the European and Asian marketplaces.
