JSR to consolidate production of latex in Yokkaichi plant
By Liz White, ERJ staff
Tokyo-JSR Corp. has consolidated all of its latex production at the group's Yokkaichi plant in Japan, and ceased latex production at its Kashima plant, “as part of efforts to reinforce the competitiveness of the petrochemical business.â€
This plant reorganisation consists of increasing capacity at the main Yokkaichi plant by 20 kilotonnes per annum. JSR said this is being achieved by adding new equipment, utilising idle equipment and introducing software to raise productivity.
JSR's latex products include SBR latex and acrylic emulsions. The firm gives capacity for latex at Yokkaichi-its major domestic production unit-as 100 ktpa, with 16 ktpa made at Kashima.
