Goodyear Aviation wins 5-year Ryanair contract
Tilburg, Netherlands--Goodyear's Aviation tyre division has won a
five-year contract to supply tyres and tyre maintenance to Ryanair, Europe's
largest low-cost airline. The Ryanair contract, which carries an option for an additional five years, includes the delivery of new tyres and the repair and overhaul of aviation tyres for the airline's fleet of 66 Boeing 737-800 jet aircraft. Ryanair also has firm aircraft orders for 96 new planes and up to 123 options to be delivered up to 2009.
In a statement, Goodyear said it will supply new tyres for Ryanair from its manufacturing facilities in Danville, Virginia, and Bangkok, Thailand. Aviation tyres will be retreaded in Tilburg.
