Bridgestone sold illegally-marked tyres - report
Tokyo--Bridgestone has reportedly been selling tyres illegally marked with the JIS authorisation mark, before authorisation was granted.
Local papers say Bridgestone struck a deal to make tyres at Inoue's factory in Thailand, but the facilities were not inspected by JIS due to a technicality. However, Bridgestone began making and selling tyres with the JIS mark. The company was asked to remove the mark.
