Indonesian NR exports still rising
Jakarta--Indonesia's exports of NR will be higher than in 2003 in terms of both volume and value, according to Syarbaini Zain, Secretary of the North Sumatera Natural Rubber Producers Association, quoted in local newspapers.
The executive was quoted saying, "The volume of Indonesia's natural rubber exports in 2004 may reach at least 1.6 million tons, a 13 per cent increase compared to last year's 1.4 million tons" This contrasts with statements from Gapkindo three weeks ago, saying that Indonesia exported 1.7 million tonnes of natural rubber in the first 10 months of 2004, compared with 1.58 million tonnes in the whole of 2003
