AES grade targets consumer products market
Dusseldorf, Germany- Advanced Elastomer Systems (AES), part of ExxonMobil Chemical Co., has launched a new thermoplastic elastomer for consumer product and packaging applications requiring soft grip and aesthetics combined with heat, oil and chemical resistance.
The TPE, called Santoprene X8211-25 is developed from proprietary technology, according to AES. The materials is suitable for high-quality consumer products, claims Ulf Nilsson, the firm's global director, consumer marketing.
“Material specifiers now have the ability to choose a TPE with a very soft, silky feel combined with the added performance of a fully vulcanized elastomer,†Nilsson said in a 20 Oct press statement.
