Santa Barbara installs rubber sidewalks, to allow root pruning
Santa Barbara, California--City authorities across California are planning to replace some concrete sidewalks with recycled rubberised versions, to overcome their liability in case residents trip on tree roots and injure themselves, says the supplier, RubberSidewalks Inc.
In a new departure for tyre recyclate, the company which supplies the products says they last 15 years and can be raised to permit pruning of the roots.
