Dieffenbacher exits rubber machinery, shifts focus

Windsor, Ontario-Dieffenbacher North America Inc. has sold its rubber-related equipment line to focus on other businesses, including plastics compression moulding machinery.
Machinery maker Sherdil Precision Inc. acquired the rubber injection and compression moulding press line July 20 from Dieffenbacher. Tecumseh, Ontario-based Sherdil is a vendor of Dieffenbacher's.
Dieffenbacher North America, a subsidiary of Eppinger, Germany-based J. Dieffenbacher GmbH & Co. K.G., said in a July 21 letter to its customers it will refocus on core businesses-the wood, metal and plastic industries.
Windsor-based Dieffenbacher was established in 1984.
