    From Rubber & Plastics News

Red Bank, New Jersey-Douglas Tough has been named CEO and managing director of Ansell Ltd., succeeding Harry Boon.

Boon said in November he will retire from the posts when his contract expires 30 June, the day Tough will assume the positions.

Tough, a dual citizen of the US and Canada, spent 17 years with Cadbury Schweppes PLC, holding down a number of different management positions. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of the firm's largest division, Dr Pepper/Seven Up Inc. He also spent 12 years with Procter & Gamble Co. in various sales and marketing assignments.

Boon had been with Ansell in various capacities for 27 years, including 13 years a managing director when it was a division of Pacific Dunlop Ltd. He was named CEO two years ago.
