BFS raising prices 5-8%
From Rubber & Plastics News
Nashville, Tennessee-Bridgestone Corp.'s US- and Canada-based subsidiaries are raising prices 5 to 8 percent across the board for replacement and original equipment tyres.
Rising raw material costs sparked the price hikes by Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire L.L.C. and Bridgestone/Firestone Canada Inc., BFS said. The increases take effect June 1 and cover Bridgestone, Firestone, Dayton, associate and private-brand tires made by the companies.
Prices for some sizes of off-the-road tyres will rise the most, 8 percent.
Most other tyre makers recently have announced price increases in the US aftermarket,
The last to do so were Michelin Americas Small Tires and Pirelli Tire North America Inc., enacting increases of 3 percent on passenger and light truck tyres. Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Continental Tire North America Inc., Toyo Tire USA Corp. and Yokohama Tire Corp. also are raising prices, and Goodyear did the same on 1 May.
