Kraton hikes SBS prices
By Patrick Raleigh ERJ On-line news editor
London-Kraton Polymers is raising prices for its clear and oil-extended SBS (styrene-butadiene block copolymers) in Europe by Euro100/tonne with effect from 1 May.
The move is intended “to re-establish our profitability to acceptable levels,†according to Roger Morgan, global vice president for Kraton D.
The business has faced “significant increases in our costs resulting from a combination of crude oil price increases, feedstock supply constraints and exchange rate effects,†Morgan added in a 13 April statement.
